The Sunday service - 3 May 2020

3.5.2020 | Congregational Life, Moderator, Church Life, COVID-19 Emergency, The PCI Sunday Service

As churches across Ireland remain closed today, due to the current Coronavirus emergency, this morning's Sunday service by Presbyterian Moderator, Rt Rev Dr William Henry, continues with his final sermon in his mini-series on Habakkuk.

Recorded in his home congregation, Maze Presbyterian earlier this week, today’s sermon is taken from Habakkuk 3:16-19. Speaking before the recording, Dr Henry said, “Today’s sermon is based on the well-known words of Habakkuk where he expresses his sturgeon trust and reliance upon God, even in the situation where everything has been taken away from him in terms of security and well being - apt for these days!

“The service features a greeting from American songwriter Paul Baloche with a lead into the opening worship, which is ‘it is good to praise you Lord’.

Dr Henry concluded by saying, “I have also included a short clip showing a little excerpt from my recent trip to Kenya as a lead into the prayer for our missionaries there and the country of Kenya. I am pleased to report that our partner church, the Presbyterian Church of East Africa has requested access to this series of services for further showing on their TV channel - Kirk TV.”

Today’s final song is ‘my hope is built is nothing less’.
