23 August 2020 – A church with a message

In his weekly service looking at Ephesians, Presbyterian Moderator Rt Rev Dr Bruce studies Ephesians 3:1-13 under the theme, “A church with a message”. The Moderator reflects on the far-reaching implications of being a new humanity in Christ. He looks at the remarkable life of Lesslie Newbigin, a former missionary in India, and influential theologian who helped the church think about its mission in a secular world.

 


16 August 2020 – The place where God is found

In his weekly service looking at Ephesians, Presbyterian Moderator Rt Rev Dr Bruce reaches the end of Chapter 2, and explores how the church is the place where God is found. He traces the background to the Temple in the Old Testament, and shows how, in Christ, the Temple is no longer a physical building, but the ordinary, everyday people of God themselves.

 


9 August 2020 – A church at peace

In today’s recorded service Dr Bruce looks at Ephesians 2:11-18 exploring the theme, ‘A church at peace’. Joining Dr Bruce this week are members of the Presbytery of Newry.

 


2 August 2020 – The heart-beat of the gospel

In today's service, Dr Bruce looks at Ephesians 2:6-10, which he says, “includes some of the best-known and loved verses in the Bible that take us to very central heart-beat of the gospel – the understanding that we are saved by grace.”

 


26 July 2020 – A living church

Presbyterian Moderator, Rt Rev Dr David Bruce Dr Bruce, continues his recorded weekly service of worship for the whole Presbyterian Church in Ireland family. While some restrictions are still in place, Dr Bruce will bring this service to you during the summer months.
