Mending the web: youth ministry relationships now – Thursday, 18 March 2021

This webinar recognised that the church is still here and it is vital to reconnect the web of relationships in which young people grow and thrive.

It heard stories of how leaders have connected to young people, parents and other adults, and looked at how the new Youth App from PCI can give congregations safe and effective ways to build those connections now and moving forward.

This webinar, hosted by Ruth Bromley, PCI’s Children’s Development Officer, looked at how we, as parents, can continue to disciple our children along the lines of Deuteronomy 6 as we get back to more “normal” life and all the other organisations may come back into being? How can church leaders, ministers and children’s ministry leaders, help to support and encourage parents in their primary role as disciplers?

It also included stories from a parent and an interview with Rachel Turner, Parenting for Faith pioneer at BRF.

Faith for the long haul – Wednesday, 3 February 2021

This digital event explored the very real challenges that face emerging generations in their life and faith. The main speaker was Ruth Perrin, author of “Changing Shape: The Faith Lives of Millennials.” Ruth addressed the challenges for young adults but also shared evidence and examples of what builds resilient faith through findings from her research on the “lost generation” of emerging adults.

Tim Gough, Director of Llandudno Youth for Christ and editor of “Youth Ministry Online” will share tips and experiences of successful online youth ministry. Jose Cummings, Director of Exodus will share some thoughts on how to get the best from small groups. There will be an opportunity to ask questions of all the contributors.

 


 

Living with it as a congregation – Wednesday, 13 January 2021

This webinar will pick up that challenge by reflecting on a recent Evangelical Alliance survey on church life, considering how a ‘less might be more’ approach to ministry might be fruitful and suggesting some basic patterns around which to encourage one another in following Jesus in this season.
