Christ at the centre, community at heart

The Presbyterian Church in Ireland is a community of believers shaped by faith, committed to loving God and serving others. Across cities, towns and rural communities, PCI congregations gather for worship around God’s Word, grow in fellowship and reach out in mission.

A shared life

In a local church, a place of belonging and friendship can be found through:

• Sunday worship
• Women’s, men’s and youth groups
• Midweek Bible studies, home groups, prayer meetings and social events
• Pastoral support and care for every life stage
• Encouraging connections across the generations

Worship him with our whole lives

Worship is central to our life together. While every congregation is unique, we all have a core commitment to meeting regularly around the Word of God.

We do this through:

• Meeting together in groups large and small
• Sunday worship centred on Scripture, preaching and study
• Prayer and praise in a range of worship styles both traditional and contemporary
• Communion and baptism as regular sacraments
• Space for reflection, community and celebration

Mission

We are committed to mission locally and globally, partnering with others to bring the hope of the gospel.

This is done through:

• Rural and urban outreach across Ireland
• Global mission workers serving across the world
• Church planting and new forms of church
• Support for mission through prayer and giving

Social witness

We are called to care for the most vulnerable. Our social witness is wide-ranging and compassionate and seen in our:

• Residential and supported housing for older people
• Addiction recovery and disability support services
• Day centres and community care programmes
• Advocacy, justice and compassion-led ministries

Challenge ourselves with biblical discipleship

We encourage a radical discipleship which impacts every part of our lives from stewardship of money to faithful relationships and how we care for the world God has created.

To encourage lifelong discipleship we offer resources, training and opportunities to support:

• Prayer and Bible reading tools
• Resources for home and group use
• Training in leadership and ministry

Gather together

Life in PCI includes opportunities to meet, learn and grow together as a whole church body through events held across the year:

• General Assembly – our annual gathering and decision-making meeting
• Youth Night, training events and residentials
• PW Annual Gathering and other women’s events
• Celebrations, services and special events
