Information about grants and application form

Here you can find information about the Presbyterian Relief Fund (PRF) and details of how to make an application for support from the Fund.

Please Note - The Presbyterian Relief Fund is a separate registered charity and is not under the control of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

The Presbyterian Relief Fund

The PRF is managed by a group of 16 Trustees with administrative support provided by the Financial Secretary’s Department in Assembly Buildings.

The Fund provides a regular quarterly grant for those who require financial support to meet necessary living costs.  It can also provide one-off ‘crisis’ grants to meet unexpected essential items that people cannot manage from their normal income.

Normally the Trustees consider applications from people who:-

  • are living at home (i.e. not in residential care);
  • do not have significant savings; and
  • have income below the level of the National Living Wage.

To enable the Trustees to assess an application, they will need to review the applicant’s financial circumstances.  Please be assured that information supplied is treated in the strictest confidence by the Trustees and the administration team.

Application forms can be downloaded above, but these should normally be submitted by the minister of the PCI congregation to which the applicant is connected.

If you would like more information on the Fund, please speak to your minister.
