Some of the forms, policy documents and fact sheets available in relation to safeguarding and child protection.
Child Protection Policy
Parents/carers expect the church to have and enforce a child protection policy. This policy is aimed at creating an environment where children and young people may enjoy social contact, personal and spiritual development and where they and the leaders and helpers working with them will be kept safe.

Interim guidance for churches on mentoring
To date the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) has not supported 1:1 mentoring of children/young people in an attempt to safeguard both them and leaders. This is borne out generally in the Taking Care guidance.
However, aware of the difficulties in ministering to groups of young people during the current circumstances of Covid-19, PCI has developed interim guidance for churches wishing to develop 1:1 mentoring in as safe a manner as possible.
