The Sunday service – 19 April 2020

19.4.2020 | Congregational Life, Moderator, Church Life, COVID-19 Emergency, The PCI Sunday Service

As congregations are still unable to meet, this morning the Moderator, Rt Rev Dr William Henry, continues his mini-series on Habakkuk. The third of five sermons from the Old Testament resumes after his Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday sermons.

Recorded in his home congregation, Maze Presbyterian earlier this week, today’s sermon is taken from Habakkuk 2:4-20. Speaking before the recording, Dr Henry said, “In the earlier verses, Habakkuk has been asking for an answer to the difficulties that he experienced. In God’s answer, he provided a couple of certainties that we too can rely upon today that help us to make sense of our present experience.”

This morning the following worship songs and hymns will be used:

  • My hope is built on nothing less
  • What a beautiful name
  • I want to see Jesus lift high

The Kids talk is about the unpredictability of life, but learning about the certainty of Jesus’ second coming - even though we don’t know exactly when!

The service will end with the final song, Amazing Grace
