Would you want to serve on the frontline in Afghanistan? Perhaps you have a family member or friend who is. The role of the forces chaplain is standing side by side with their colleagues offering pastoral support and ministering in very difficult circumstances. The Presbyterian Church has 10 chaplains in full or part time service cared for by the Board of Social Witness. One recently discussed with soldiersthe high number of near misses compared to actual hits. "I told them prayer had a lot to do with it. They were stunned into silence when I told them how many people were praying for their safety. If you ever think one small prayer doesn't count... think again."
