2006 -     Portrush Presbyterian Church

Background:

Julie grew up in Glenavy. She graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Banking and Finance in 2000. Just after this she felt God's call to work in His Church and served in Gardenmore Presbyterian Church for two years. She married Stuart in 2003 and started deaconess training shortly after that. Following two years' full-time study at Union College she received her Diploma in Ministry in Diaconal Studies, completed her Probationary year in Waringstown, and in 2006 was called to serve full-time in Portrush Presbyterian Church.


Present Ministry:

Seeking God for guidance especially in developing community ministry
Pastoral work amongst women - one to one Bible study and book club
Visitation of families with children who attend youth organisations
Sunday School teacher
Involvement in Services
Supporting those who volunteer in various ministries in the church


Interests:

Reading; Spending time with friends and family; Jigsaws; Going for walks


Prayer Requests:

  • Praise God for the opportunities for service that He has opened up and for the relationships that He is working through.
  • That Julie would be rooted in Christ and grow in Him.
  • That all she does would be in His strength and bring glory to His Name.
  • For wisdom to balance responsibilities.
  • For Portrush congregation - that our lives would be marked by God's grace and an increasing desire to see His Kingdom come. Also that we would continue to grow in love for the Lord, for one another, and for the community of which we are a part.
  • During the summer Julie led a team to Slovenia, and was involved in Portrush CSSM. Pray that God would continue to bless all that was done.
  • That God would use Julie to inspire and encourage women in their walk with Him as she starts deputation this year.
