Background:

Doreen's home congregation is Clarkesbridge and First Newtownhamilton, Co Armagh. Previously a nurse and midwife, Doreen trained and became a full-time staff worker for International Hospital Christian Fellowship in 1985.


Present Ministry:

Doreen is now in her fourth year at Whitehouse Presbyterian Church which was rebuilt in February 2005. This gives new opportunities for service with the ministry team there. She continues to serve as a part-time Chaplain in the Northern Ireland Hospice, which she finds very fulfilling and rewarding.


Interests:

Music, reading, scenic walks, keep fit, gardening, travel and visits to family and friends.


Prayer Requests:

  • Thankfulness for your specific prayers.
  • Thankfulness for new opportunities to serve God in this area and community.
  • Responsibility of co-ordinating outreach programme for unchurched families, and overseas trip with Habitat for Humanity.
  • School Visitation
  • Co-ordinating and developing Pastoral Care team, Christian Education and Senior Citizen Group.
  • Preparation time for Bible Study groups, Alpha and Grief Share Courses, also Deputation visits.
  • Weekly Hospice prayer service and chaplaincy responsibilities.
  • Serving as President of Deaconess Association.
  • Time for God.
  • Time to relax with family and friends.
