Background:

Lynda was brought up in North Belfast and moved to Larne to work as a Civil Servant in 1977. Lynda and Sammy were married in 1979; their children, Ashley and Ryan, are now young adults.

Lynda commenced Deaconess training at Union College in 2007, and spent her Probationary Year in First Carrickfergus during 2009/10.

Present Ministry:

  • Developing relationships with fringe members - offering support and encouragement, especially among young families.
  • Mums and Tots.
  • Pastoral visitation and care of families, and those who are sick and bereaved.
  • Women's ministry among members.

Interests:

  • Meeting up with friends
  • Spending time with my husband
  • Days out and travel

Prayer Requests:

  • For good health.
  • For compassion to show the love of God to everyone I come into contact with.
  • For courage and sensitivity to engage with people on the periphery of church life.
  • For wisdom and strength to balance my responsibilities as a Deaconess, wife and mother.
  • That I will remain faithful to my calling to serve God.
