Presbyterian Conference To Help Grow Family Ministry

The Board of Youth and Children's Ministry of the Presbyterian Church is Ireland is holding a conference next Wednesday, 18th January in Assembly Buildings, Belfast to help congregations effectively engage with parents and help children and young people find their place in the wider church family.

'Keeping it in the Family - Rooting our ministry in the Family Context' is the theme for the evening event which will begin at 7.45pm in the Assembly Hall.

American Mark DeVries will be the guest speaker and there will also be a chance to hear about some examples of family work fromthree local congregations.

Mark DeVries is Associate Pastor to Youth and their families in First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He is founder of Youth Ministry Architects and Children's Ministry Architects, which provide hands-on coaching for churches.

Graeme Thompson, YAC's Youth Development Officer said, "We are delighted to have Mark lead this conference and we would extend a welcome to leaders who want to develop their family ministry to come along. We hope that everyone who attends will discover something practical that they can use to strengthen family ministry in their own congregations."
