Presbyterian Moderator Dr Donald Patton has welcomed the support from other church leaders for savers in the Presbyterian Mutual Society.
Dr Patton said, "As more and more people become aware of the issues involved in the placing of the Presbyterian Mutual Society into administration there has been growing support from right across the local community and beyond for savers caught up in the crisis.
"The support of local church leaders is to be welcomed and I would echo their call that the Northern Ireland Executive and UK Government take urgent action to resolve the difficulties being faced by savers in the Society.
"I would also welcome the support given by the Church of Scotland at their General Assembly last week which noted with concern the impact of the collapse of the Presbyterian Mutual Society, and urged the UK Government and devolved executive in Northern Ireland to take urgent action to resolve the situation"
