Building Blocks

The Presbyterian Board of Youth and Children's Ministry in association with children's ministry leaders from a broad spectrum of Christian Churches and organisations throughout Ireland will be repeating the 'Building Blocks' conferences this Autumn, following the success of previous courses in the last few years.

Aimed at anyone involved in children's ministry through their church, community or school, the first conference will be held at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown on Saturday 24 November from 10am to 4.30pm and the second at St. Patrick's College of Education, Drumcondra, Dublin on Saturday 1 December from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The Building Blocks conferences are now firmly established as a key training event for children's Christian ministry leaders in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Since its inception just five years ago almost 4,000 people have attended one of the conferences in either Dublin or Belfast.

This year the keynote speaker is Bob Hartman, who has been working as a storyteller for children for over twelve years. Whatever the occasion, Bob's storytelling sessions are always exciting, engaging and above all interactive. Well known for the Lion Storyteller series, Bob's publications also include Easter Stories and The Complete Bible Baddies.

Seminars will include topics like Helping Children in Times of Crisis, Interactive Worship, Neither Teens nor Children, Leading Small Groups and Visual Communication. The cost of the conference is £26 (€40) and this includes refreshments, lunch and all conference materials.
