In the context of the biblical injunction to 'live in harmony with one another' Rev Lesley Carroll, convener of the Church and Society Committee of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland welcomes today's statement from the IRA.
"The Committee has always encouraged actions that would enable our society to move forward in the process of building peace with one another and today's statement is a significant move in that direction."
The Church and Society Committee will meet as soon as possible to fully consider the statement and make further response to it.
