Moderator To Open New Church Halls At Abbey, Monkstown

Presbyterian Moderator, Dr. Ken Newell will officially open and dedicate new church halls at Abbey Presbyterian Church, Monkstown this Saturday 23 October. The church will celebrate with a family fun day, beginning at 12pm and followed by a short service of thanksgiving and dedication at 3pm. Photograph opportunities are available at 3.30pm.

The Kirkpatrick Halls of Abbey, Monkstown have undergone extensive refurbishment and extension, which has taken nine months to complete. On Saturday the congregation will mark the completion of the work during the open day when the general public will have the opportunity to view the improvements and activities for children will be provided, including games and face painting.

Rev. John Seawright, minister of Abbey, Monkstown explains why the project is so important to the life of the church, "As a growing church we found that we were in need of more space to cater for all the requirements of the congregation. We hope that the new facilities will be of particular benefit to our youth organisations and senior citizen groups as well as the community at large."
