The Ballymena Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church has 'warmly welcomed' the decision of the Ballymena show organizers to withdraw Sunday from the show timetable and has encouraged people to support the show through their participation and attendance.
Commenting, Clerk of the Ballymena Presbytery, Rev Joseph Andrews said, ' I would, on behalf of Presbytery, express thanks to the representatives of the Show Committee, BASC and Ballymena Borough Council for their willingness to receive our deputation and for the spirit in which our presentation was received. We trust that Ballymena Show will now know the wholehearted support of the local community.'
The full text of the Presbytery statement is as follows:
'The Presbytery of Ballymena warmly welcomes the decision of the organisers of Ballymena Show to withdraw their proposal to include Sunday within the Show time table.
'Presbytery appreciates the willingness of the organisers to reconsider their original proposal in the light of representations made to them.
'Presbytery is convinced that the community at large will welcome this development and would encourage all within its bounds to lend their support to the Show by their attendance and participation.'
