Moderator Supports Ulster Chaplain

Following recent changes announced by coach Alan Solomons, the Ulster rugby squad will soon be thinking of next years campaign in the European Cup. One background figure that has not changed is Official Ulster Rugby Chaplain Rev Andrew Thompson.

Now entering his third season as Chaplain to the Ulster Branch, Andrew has developed a good working relationship with both branch staff and players at Ravenhill, offering pastoral support or advice in times of need. His other main role is as minister to the congregations of Craigavon and Vinecash in Co Armagh.

Andrew has enjoyed the full support of current Presbyterian Moderator, Dr Alastair Dunlop, himself something of a self confessed rugby fanatic and Ravenhill regular. Dr Dunlop was recently invited by the Ulster Branch to meet with players, officials and to see first hand Andrew's role as part of the Ulster set up at Ravenhill. He comments:

"Andrew has been working behind the scenes assisting players and staff at the Ulster Branch. He is special assistance to players from abroad who often need help settling into life in Northern Ireland. I fully commend him to the church in prayer and hope that next season, both he and the team enjoy much success."
