Protestant Church Leader Condemns Pipe Bomb "Reign Of Terror"

In a statement released today Presbyterian Moderator Dr Trevor Morrow condemned as a "moral outrage" the latest series of pipe bomb attacks across the province.

Describing such attacks as a "reign of terror" Dr Morrow said that the perpetrators "were the underbelly of lawless militant loyalism" and "had no right to commit their deeds in the name of Protestantism."

The Moderator noted that aside from the de-stabilising effect on efforts being made for peace, "the fear and pain that such actions cause amongst ordinary citizens, particularly our Roman Catholic neighbours is utterly abhorrent."

He continued to say, "I would like to say to members of my own church, who's first loyalty is to Jesus Christ and the values of the Kingdom of God, to take any opportunity to show solidarity with their Catholic neighbours in standing against this campaign of evil."

Dr Morrow will be available for interview today (Friday 9th February).
