Jesus For The 21st Century

Presbyterian Moderator Designate Dr Trevor Morrow has taken as his theme for the year "Jesus For the 21st Century."

'I describe myself as reformed and orthodox but living in the twenty first century,' explains the Moderator Designate. 'That means I am true to the principles of the reformed faith. However, I'm putting it into practice in a way that people living in the twenty first century can relate to.

'Jesus is at the centre of our faith, in terms of who He is and what He has done for us. We don't have to make Him relevant for this century - He is relevant. But in order for our contemporaries to encounter Jesus, we need to understand the mindset and world of our neighbours and then, and this is the most difficult part for us, to make whatever radical changes are necessary in the cultural forms of our life and witness so that we might be the City of God of the 21st century.'
