Moderator Designate Announces Four Chaplains

Presbyterian Moderator Designate, Dr Trevor Morrow, has appointed four chaplains to assist him during the forthcoming General Assembly and his year of office.

While previously a Moderator has had two chaplains, Dr Morrow has appointed four to cope with the many additional responsibilities that are being required of both a Moderator and his chaplains.

'It is important for a Moderator to keep in touch with people's opinions,' says Dr Morrow, 'and I have chosen chaplains working in different parts of the country who will be able to keep me up to date about what is happening in their location and how Presbyterian's are thinking about a whole range of issues so that I can reflect those opinions as appropriate.'

The four chaplains are:

Rev Dr Russell Birney, minister of High Kirk congregation, Ballymena
Rev Trevor Gribben, minister of Whiteabbey congregation
Rev Tony Davidson, First Armagh
Rev Frank Sellar, Adelaide Road Dunore congregation in Dublin.

Dr Morrow will take up office at the opening session of the General Assembly in Belfast on Monday June 5 in succession to Dr John Lockington.
