Leading Australian Academic Speaks In Belfast

A world renowned theologian and academic from Sydney, Australia will be visiting Belfast next Friday, 14th April 2000 to deliver two lectures on the role of the Holy Spirit. Canon Dr Peter Jensen, principal of Moore Theological College, has been invited to speak at a meeting organised by the Christian Training Centre of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The meeting will be held in Union College, Belfast , commencing at 11am.

Dr Jensen an ordained minister of the Anglican Church in Australia and is much demanded around the world as a Bible teacher and conference speaker. He holds an Oxford DPhil on the theology of the Reformation, has been Principal of Moore for over nine years and is currently on sabbatical, engaged in research for a book to be published in the next year. Dr Jensen will speak on two subjects in relation to the Holy Spirit; "The Spirit and the Gospel" and "The Spirit and Revelation."

Organising the conference is Dr Desi Alexander, Director of the Christian Training Centre. He comments:

"We are so pleased to have a speaker of Dr Jensen's calibre in Belfast and we are pleased, that he should choose such an important subject to debate. Perceptions of who the Holy Spirit is and what He does vary so much. It will prove beneficial to have our understanding of this aspect of the Trinity developed by Peter Jensen."

The one day event which is being co-hosted with the Irish Baptist College, Union Theological College and Edgehill Theological College, is open to anyone and admission is free.
