A small Presbyterian congregation in County Donegal will celebrate the re-opening of their fully refurbished church this Sunday, 28th November at 7.30pm.
Carndonagh Presbyterian Church will be re-opened following substantial refurbishment work completed over the summer months. Presbyterian Moderator Dr John Lockington will be taking part in a special service of thanksgiving and praise which also involves the Foyle Presbytery Choir who will sing special musical items for the occassion.
Costing over £40,000, the refurbishment has ment vast improvement to the church interior, including new carpetting, cushions, roofwork and drylining of walls. Most of the costs have been met by the 40 or so families that comprise the local Presbyterian community. A grant of £14,000 was also donated by the Home Mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Commenting on the refurbishment minister of Cardonagh Presbyterian Church Dr John Lappin says:
"This really will be a great evening for Carndonagh Church. It means so much for us to have this work done and ensure the strengthening of our work in this area. All the other local clergy have been invited and we do hope that many from outside Carndonagh Presbyterian will take an opportunity to visit our fellowship."
