A unique book containing Bible readings, thoughts and anecdotes by seventy seven Christians from across Ireland has just been published. Entitled "Living Well - a year of Bible discovery with Christians of Ireland" the 416 page book marks the first publication of it's kind, crossing both the border and denominational lines throughout the island.
"Living Wells" is edited by Rev Frank Sellar, minister of Adelaide Road Doneore Presbyterian Church, Dublin and should be widely available in Christian bookshops across Ireland. A wide range of readings are contained in the book, including opinion on God's love, grace, depression, sex, work and heaven amongst the 365 daily thoughts. Each Bible reading is concluded with reflections on the scripture, a short prayer and a line or two of (usually)humourous observation:
"To really know a man, observe his behaviour with a woman, a flat tyre and a child!" (Andrew Watson, Donegal Town)
Each monthly section is preceeded with pictorial artwork by renowned north coast artist RG Sellar ARUA, father of the editor.
Rev Frank Sellar began the enormous task of compiling "Living Wells" last February. Inspiration for the book came as Frank was asked to consider what form his response to the forthcoming millennium celebrations would take. He comments: "What better way to celebrate the millennium than to read a portion of God's Word every day for the new year? It just seems the most obvious way to find out more about the signifigance of the year 2000. During the compilation of "Living Wells" I have discovered that so many other people are of like mind - seventy seven excellent contributions bear this truth out. I sincerely hope that the wider public benefit from their work."
