A Teacher For The Preachers From Down Under!

A world renowned Australian church minister and teacher arrives for a two day conference in Hamilton Road Presbyterian, Bangor on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th April. Rev Phillip Jensen, rector of St Matthias Church, Sydney and chaplain to the University of New South Wales, will be addressing a large number of ministers from all denominations on "Preaching that changes lives."

Rev Jensen has pioneered a radical approach to Christian evangelism in his multi - cultural home base of Sydney helping to establish the innovative publishing house St Matthias Press. One of their most recent publications 'Pure Sex', was Rev Jensen's acclaimed guide to morality, immorality and Christian belief in an "anything goes" society.

The visit of such a dynamic Christian preacher is something of a coup for Hamilton Road Church, having just completed two weeks of outreach with fellow Australian John Chapman, a colleague of Phillip Jensen. Registration for the two day conference has been steadily booking up amongst ministers, students and lay representatives. Rev David Johnston, minister of Hamilton Road comments:

"Phillip Jensen is one of those people who encourages us not to give up on preaching. He believes that it is preaching which changes the church and which effects that radical transformation which lies at the heart of the gospel. We sincerely look forward to welcoming Phillip to Hamilton Road."
