Presbyterian Moderator Dr Sam Hutchinson has issued the following statement following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
I share the nation's shock and sadness at the sudden death of Diana, Princess of Wales. My thoughts and prayers, and those of the entire Presbyterian Church, are with her entire family circle, and with the families of the others killed in this tragic accident.
Diana was unique. I have happy memories of her visit to Church House in 1992; her gracious manner and keen interest in all that she saw endeared her to those who met her on that memorable day. People everywhere will remember her for her concern for the suffering and the needy.
She will be irreplaceable but her example will be an enduring inspiration to all involved in ministries of care and compassion.
