During a regular business meeting in Belfast today the Four Church Leaders considered the current sad deterioration in community relations. They expressed deep concern at the events which have taken place in Ballymena, and condemn unreservedly the actions of any who seek to obstruct those attending worship in any place. They emphasise once again that it is the right of all people to worship in freedom. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace they call upon all people of faith and goodwill in the community to recognise the meaning of this season, and to treat their neighbours with respect and dignity.
Issued by the Four Church Leaders,
- Archbishop Sean Brady
- Rt. Rev. Dr.Harry Allen, Moderator
- Rev. Ken Best - Methodist President
