Presbyterian Moderator Dr Harry Allen issued the following statement to the Irish News concerning the membership of the Orange Order by Presbyterian ministers.
The Presbyterian Church recognises the right of an individual to join any organisation so long as membership of that organisation does not conflict with Christian principles, with scriptural teaching and the individual's standing within the Presbyterian Church.
I would encourage all members of the Orange Order to respect and uphold the Christian principles which are central to the ethos of the organisation.
