Gray's Court

Social Witness

Belfast

Gray's Court was opened in 2000 in response to a need identified by staff at Carlisle House Addiction Rehabilitation Unit for supported accommodation for people in early recovery who were homeless, or living in circumstances detrimental to their recovery. The project is joint between the Council for Social Witness and Habinteg Housing Association and is supported by United Appeal.

Gray’s Court is a move-on supported living project managed by Carlisle House consisting of seven one bedroom flats. It offers a range of therapies, support and a Life Long Learning programme. It is short term accommodation with maximum tenancy of two years.

The project is registered with RQIA who undertake bi-annual inspections. Reports can be viewed on their website www.rqia.org.uk.

Funding is mainly through housing benefit. The Project Worker is available on weekdays to give practical and emotional support, all other times are covered by the Helpline at Carlisle House. Residents are assisted in planning a personal recovery programme including work/training. Residents attend weekly support groups at Gray's Court and their initial treatment unit.
