Strand, Belfast

Strand Presbyterian Church is located on Connsbrook Avenue, off the Holywood Road, in the Sydenham area of East Belfast.

The congregation celebrated its centenary in 2003/04 under the banner "100 & Counting" which served as a reminder that we seek to count for God's kingdom in the present and future as we have in the past. The congregation numbers around 260 families and enjoys a membership spanning all ages.

In our Sunday services we aim to enable meaningful worship as we sing God's praise using the best of older and contemporary songs, hear God's voice through the preaching of his Word, and encourage one another in fellowship. The Sunday morning service is probably the best place to first sample worship in Strand and a creche and children's church is provided.

We offer a wide range of weekly activities. There are Fellowship Groups meeting in the homes of members for Bible study and prayer on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings of the month, as well as a weekly Wednesday afternoon meeting for those free during the day. Men's Bowling Group meets on Monday afternoons, the P.W.A. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, and the three sections of the Boys' Brigade meet on Monday and Thursday evenings. Strand Playgroup is a practical initiative of the congregation in response to a shortage of public pre-school playgroup provision in the area and meets each Monday to Wednesday and Friday mornings. The Mother and Toddler Group meets on Thursday morning. On Friday evening, "Syd Kids" provides a lively hour of learning about God for Primary School children. It is followed by the "Hot Spot Youth Club" for teenagers.

We would be glad to welcome you at any of our activities.
