Sunday Services:
Minister: Rev. Alistair R. Bill |
Saintfield Road, BelfastMission Statement: 'To bring the people of our district together so that they worship God, make a commitment to Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, and share in fellowship - and to equip and mobilise them for effective Christian witness and service in the local community and beyond.' Saintfield Road Presbyterian Church began as a church extension charge in January 1960 under the ministry of Rev. James McAdam, now our senior minister. Our buildings are situated on the Saintfield Road about a mile south of the Forestside shopping centre. Our present building was opened in 1962 and we became a fully erected member of the General Assembly in 1965. There are some 325 families connected with the congregation. We have a wide range of organisations and activities for all ages. We have a strong interest in mission, our members Rev. Gordon Campbell and family (France), John and Ruth Hamilton (Wycliffe Bible Translators) and Rosi White (Malawi) being our current forms of support. Rev. Alistair Bill succeeded the Rev. Paul McClenaghan in 1994. His wife Angela and children Sarah, Hannah and Andrew are fully active in our church fellowship. After a Family Weekend in 1999 we have begun to implement changes within our fellowship and beyond. We have set up small house groups and we plan soon to improve existing facilities soon.
