Congregations of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland |
|
Moyarget Road,
Sunday Service:
Minister: Rev. Rodney Thompson |
RamoanRamoan Presbyterian Church originated in or around 1646 when the Vicar of Ramoan joined with others in North Antrim to adopt a semblance of Presbyterianism. After the Restoration, he confirmed, and for some forty years little is known of the Presbyterian cause. Its continuous history can be traced from 1701. The congregation now worships at Moyarget, some three miles from Ballycastle. It is an attractive rural charge comprising 128 families, with a full range of Church organisations. It now shares a minister with the nearby Armoy congregation. The present Minister is The Rev. George Cunningham, BA, of The Manse, Armoy, Ballycastle. |
