Church Street,
Sunday Service:
Minister: Rev Amanda Best |
RameltonRamelton is situated about seven miles from Letterkenny on the edge of Lough Swilly. The present church building was opened in 1908 and replaced an older meeting house which is now restored and houses a library and genealogy project. The congregation can trace its roots back to 1630 when Robert Pont, a grandson of John Knox, was its first minister. There were originally three congregations in Ramelton which are amalgamated into one today with about 135 families. We have a Sunday School, a Girls' Brigade company, a Youth Club and Youth Fellowship, a bowling club and a Presbyterian Women's Association which meet regularly throughout the year. Our weekly Bible studies and special services are shared with our sister church at Kilmacrennan.
