Congregations of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland |
|
Ballynahinch Road,
Sunday Service:
Minister: Rev. RA Liddle |
LegacurryLegacurry is situated in the commuter-belt area of South Lisburn anc convenient to Sprucefield Shopping Centre. The congregation - in existence since 1840 - has doubled in size in the past fifteen years, and presently has 290 families. Approximately one-third of our membership is under the age of eighteen, and this is reflected in both thriving uniformed organisations and a lively youth club. Our young people have a praise band and choir of forty to fifty which has travelled extensively. Legacurry itself is twinned with Wilmslow United Reformed Church near Manchester. Recent developments have included the appointment of a musical director and our first Alpha Course. The latter was held on a Sunday evening and attended by 120 members. Our congregation is warm-hearted, united and forward looking. We seek to emphasise the church as family, relevant worship, and renewal in a gentle manner. Activities include Youth Fellowship, Girls'Brigade, Boys' Brigade, Youth Club, Sunday School, House Groups, Flower Club, Badminton Table Tennis, Bowls, Presbyterian Women's Association, Senior Members' Group and Parent and Toddlers Group.
