Immanuel

Immanuel Presbyterian Church is situated in the Shankill area of Belfast. Agnes Street joins the Shankill Road and the Crumlin Road. The congregation was born in 1971 out of a union of Agnes Street and Bethany congregations.

At present (1997) there are 350 families and worship is at 11.30am and 7pm each Sunday. On Wednesday evening there is a meeting for Bible study and prayer.

There are many other activities during the week. There is a Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade and Christian Endeavour Societies. The first Christian Endeavour Society in Ireland was started in 1889 in Agnes Street Congregation.
