Hillhall

Situated approximately one and a half miles from the centre of the City of Lisburn on the Hillhall road, the congregation of Hillhall Presbyterian Church contains a happy mix of people from both city and country. The congregation can trace its history back to 1750 with the present church being opened for public worship in 1902. They have recently celebrated their centenary by the opening of a new suite of halls and offices, replacing those destroyed by fire.

It is fair to say that the congregation is traditional in character, progressive in theology, and most welcoming in spirit. The church is family orientated and caters for the whole family with crëche facilities available during the morning service. The various activities within the congregation attempt to cater for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of all ages and stages of its membership.

Our aim is that Hillhall Presbyterian Church and her organisations become increasingly an Assembly of God's people:

  • Who gather Sunday by Sunday, to contribute to the vibrant, relevant worship of God - Father, Son and Spirit,
  • Who live daily by the standards of God's word,
  • Who adhere to the standards of historic Presbyterianism,
  • Who have a concern for the lost and needy and a burning desire to reach out to the community with the message of God's love in Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
