DonoughmoreDonoughmore church has a rich history going back to 1658. The congregation has about 80 families, mainly from a farming background. The current building was opened in 1977 located on the N15 midway between Lifford and Ballybofey and provides an inspiring, modern setting for worship. There is a suite of halls to accommodate the badminton, bowls, youth clubs and Brownies. A national school under Presbyterian patronage is also on the grounds. A blend of modern and traditional hymns and music are used to enhance worship. Morning worship is at 11am. There is further opportunity for Bible study and prayer at the mid-week and an active PW. There is good leadership in Sunday School where "go teach" materials are used and also a Good News Club and summer Holiday Bible Club. Donoughmore, Carnone and Convoy are a recently formed 3-point charge in the Donegal Presbytery. Both Carnone and Donoughmore are rural based churches and Convoy is situated in the old mill town of Convoy itself. The 3 congregations are all within 10 minutes drive of each other and have had close links down through the years. The congregation plays an active role in their community and have very good community relations with other local churches and groups |
