ClontibretClontibret congregation is situated about 4 miles from the border with Northern Ireland at Middletown in County Armagh. The congregation dates back to 1715 but split into two in 1798. It was re-united in 1905 but both buildings have been maintained up to today. The present congregation has about 90 families with a regular church full of people. We have a good number of young people at worship and a very active Boy's Brigade and Girl's Brigade. In recent years we have had annual opportunities for broadcasting on radio and television. During the winter months we meet for Bible study on Thursdays at 8.00 p.m. and a monthly informal time of prayer in the manse on Sunday evenings. Monaghan is noted for its industrious people - the centre of the mushroom, poultry and furniture industries. This has been of great benefit. For further details contact Rev. Jack Drennan. |
