BushmillsBushmills stands on the river Bush within sight of the waters of the Atlantic. The mills belong to an age that is gone, although two of them have been restored in recent years: but the Bush, unceasing and unchanging, still flows onward to the Atlantic ocean. The Church stands at the southern end of the Main Street and faces westward across the river. It is a witness to Christ, the Gospel and to the presence of Presbyterianism since 1646. The parish boundaries include many popular tourist attractions, two of which are renowned across the world - the Giants Causeway and the Old Bushmills Distillery. Bushmills Presbyterian Church has almost 300 families. In addition to Sunday School, Children's Church and Bible Class, its organisations include a branch of the Presbyterian Women's Association, an indoor bowling club and Youth Fellowship. There are also groups for prayer, Bible study and for those wanting to know more about the Christian faith for themselves. In 2006 the church building was extensively renovated and extended, providing a bright worship space that facilitates modern worship. The congregation supports the work of Traidcraft, Christian Aid and many other charitable causes. The North East of Antrim is a popular tourist centre. Visitors are frequently present at our services of worship. Some have been coming for years and are 'Friends of Bushmills', some appear a few times or only once - all are most welcome.
