Sunday Service:
Minister: Rev Dr R Alan Russell |
BallywalterBallywalter is one of the oldest Presbyterian Congregations in Ireland, beginning with the Rev James Hamilton in 1620. Although we can look back to a long history we see ourselves very much in the present with our aim to be 'An active presence for Jesus Christ'. Our distinctive church building is in the centre of the village but our membership is also drawn from the countryside around. With our expansive beaches and harbour, together with view across the sea to Scotland, Cumbria and the Isle of Man, we welcome many visitors and holiday makers to the area and those who come to join us at 11.00 am on a Sunday Morning are made very welcome. We are also glad to welcome new members. As well as our main Sunday Service at 11.00 we have a wide range of activities for all age groups, including Sunday School (meeting during the Morning Service), Girls Brigade, Community Bible Study, Presbyterian Women, Coffee, Chat and Thought for the Week, Bowls, Badminton and other meetings and events. In our worship we seek to retain the most relevant of the traditional while incorporating contemporary music and ideas. We hope you will find our services relaxed and friendly as well as Bible based, Christ centred and relevant. Our congregation has around 270 families with a wide variety of backgrounds and age groups. For further information visit the congregational website at ballywalterpresbyterian.org.uk. |
