Alexandra

Alexandra Presbyterian Church is situated on the York Road in Lower North Belfast, just past the Yorkgate Cinema Complex when coming out of town.

The congregation was formed in 1942 after the Blitz on Belfast had damaged the York Street and Castleton Presbyterian Churches. The decision was taken to amalgamate the two, with the location being the old Castleton building.

Alexandra likes to see itself serve as a Church for the whole community of Lower North Belfast, which can be seen from their various organisations and outreaches. There is literally something for all the family, and every night sees Alexandra open its doors for organisations and activities. They guarantee that there will be something for you.

Amongst the many organisations, we have Good News Club, Table Tennis, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, Boys' Brigade, a Junior Youth Club and a Youth Fellowship, to name but a few! For more details on any of these organisations, please visit the website, where there are also many other organisations you can read about.

Alexandra also loves to engage in outreach at every given opportunity. Our most regular outreach event is called 'Nite Lite'. This takes place one Friday night a month and involves standing on the Shore Road giving out a hot drink and a leaflet detailing God's love for them. We have recently purchased a caravan for this outreach, which we hope will improve the huge impact we have already had on the community. The Church also offers a Summer Scheme for children of both age groups. There is a two week Summer Scheme for those aged 5-10, and a one week Summer Scheme for those aged 11 and upwards.

Please feel free to come along to any of our Services or Organisations; you will be made most welcome.
