Ard Cluan House, which opened in 1975, provides an elegant home on the outskirts of the Maiden City of Londonderry. With accommodation for 14 residents, the Home becomes an inviting place from the moment you enter. With a large, private, walled-in landscaped garden, the Home is made welcoming and homely. Registered with the Registration and Inspection Unit of the Western Health and Social Services Board, Ard Cluan House welcomes people from all denominations.

The duration of your stay remains a private choice. You are accepted as an individual the moment you enter the Home and this does not change when you become part of a large residential family. You and your relatives will be encouraged to become involved in planning your individual care.

Accommodation

The privacy and dignity of the individual is respected at all times. All bedrooms have a wash hand basin and, although furnished you are encouraged to bring favourite items from your home. All rooms have a 24-hour on call facility if you need assistance. You may use your room as you wish during the day and evening to take your visitors to. There is one sitting room and a quiet room. A chairlift is available for upstairs access.

Food

All our meals are home cooked with freshly baked bread and scones provided every day and a choice of meals. A meal can be kept for you if you go out and do not expect to be back at the normal mealtime. Special diets are catered for. Most meals are served in the dining room, but facilities are available to bring your meal to your room if you wish.

Laundry Service

Laundry of personal items is undertaken by a laundress on the premises.
