Gray's Court was opened in the year 2000 in response to a need identified by staff at Carlisle House Addiction Rehabilitation Unit for supported accommodation for people in early recovery who were homeless, or living in circumstances detrimental to their recovery. The project is a joint one between the Boards of Social Witness of the Presbyterian Church and Habinteg Housing Association.

Accommodation

There are seven self-contained flats together with indoor and outdoor communal areas.

Funding is mainly through housing benefit. Residents pay for electricity and for laundry facilities.

Support

The Project Worker is available on weekdays to give practical and emotional support, all other times are covered by the Helpline at Carlisle House. Residents are assisted in planning a personal recovery programme including work/training. Residents attend weekly support groups at Gray's Court and their initial treatment unit.

Application

Application forms are available from Gray's Court or Carlisle House and should be completed by both the applicant and their addiction counsellor.
