International Meeting Point (office based at 133a Lisburn Road, Belfast)

£30,463 - £32,220 per annum (C3-C6 AMPP Salary Scale)

Under the oversight of the International Meeting Point Management Panel, to coordinate, direct and develop the regular programme of activities in each IMP location, particularly striving to promote the ethos of the Project and protect a healthy balance between social action and gospel proclamation. As well as this, the Mission Project Leader will also manage the staff team, build relationships with users and share the gospel effectively.

Essential:

  • A qualification or formal training in Theology
  • Knowledge and awareness of the needs of foreign nationals living in UK/Ireland
  • ESOL qualification or proven experience working with speakers of other languages
  • At least 5 years’ experience of serving in Christian ministry
  • Experience of serving in a cross-cultural setting or with people of different cultures
  • Experience of managing teams of people
  • Experience of providing pastoral care to those experiencing brokenness
  • Strategic thinker with a clear sense of vision for the work
  • Ability to coordinate a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • A pastoral heart to minister to those experiencing brokenness
  • Welcoming and helpful disposition, with relational wisdom
  • Ability to promote the activities of the project to interested groups
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekend
  • Active membership of a Christian congregation
  • Evidence of a personal Christian faith. (The essential nature of this post requires that the successful candidate be a Christian as provided for under excepted occupations in the Fair employment Treatment (NI) order 1998)
  • Preparedness to work within and uphold the Standards of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
  • Ability to work flexibly to suit the needs of the post e.g. weekends and evenings as required

To contribute to the Christian ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland through the delivery of the duties outlined.

To be an active member of the General Assembly’s staff team, contributing to the effective administration of its functions and assisting in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its agreed objective in a manner in keeping with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Under the leadership of the Council for Social Witness and the direction of its Secretary, to assist with the implementation of decisions of the General Assembly relevant to the Council and to carry forward its delegated responsibilities.

To take lead responsibility for the delivery of high standards of person-centred social care service across designated Council for Social Witness projects throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Essential criteria:

  • A Social Work qualification OR a first level Registered Nurse OR an allied health professional (e.g. Dietician, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist) AND 4 years’ experience in a health and social care setting working with regulated services

OR one of the following - QCF/ Level 5 Diplomas in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Adult Residential Management or Adult Management) as listed in the Personnel specification, AND 5 years’ experience in a health and social care setting working with regulated services

OR, for existing experienced managers who do not hold an appropriate qualification, a minimum of ten years’ experience in a senior manager (registered manager or regional management) role in services regulated under the provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (NI) Order 2003

  • Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards for the Health and Social Care services, including the need for management and delivery of person-centred services
  • Willing to work within and uphold the Christian ethos of PCI in management and delivery of services
  • All applicants must be willing to work within the Christian ethos of PCI

Hours: 3 days per week (22.5 hours) in the first instance, moving to 5 days per week (37.5 hours) Maternity Leave Cover from August 2024
