Awake to Prayer – Praise You!

Lesson 1: To help children understand more about what a prayer of adoration is.

It aims to teach that these prayers are about God alone and are not a quick sentence before asking for lots of things that they want.

This lesson includes a craft take home activity to remind them what they have learnt.

Lesson 2: To help children understand more about what a prayer of confession is.

It aims to help children understand that they need to say sorry to God for things that they have done wrong and ask for His forgiveness.

This lesson includes a take home craft to help the children remember what they have learnt about confessing as part of a range of prayers.

Lesson 3: To help children understand more about what a prayer of thanksgiving is.

It encourages children to remember who it is that they need to be thankful to for all that they have and that God provides for their every need.

Lesson 4: To help children understand more about what a prayer of supplication or request is.

It helps the children to think about the people who are around them who need prayer and allows for discussion on how to do this. It is so important that children learn what it means to pray for others.

Lesson 5:  Continues to help children understand more about what a prayer of supplication is.

In this lesson the children have the opportunity to think about the world as a whole and what they might pray for there. It encourages thinking about what is currently in the news and also missionaries connected to the congregation and prayer requests that they may have.

Lesson 6:  To help children understand more about what a prayer of supplication is.

It looks at the missionaries that are connected to our Church as a whole and encourages the children to think about what they could pray for them.
