Council for Training in Ministry Committees and Panels This Council is responsible for: selection, training and on-going development of full-time ministers, auxiliary ministers and accredited preachers; pastoral care of ministers and manse families; selection and initial training of deaconesses, including probationary period; reception of ministers and licentiates from other Churches, subject to rules approved by the General Assembly; management of Union Theological College and the Magee Fund Scheme; provision of a conciliation service. Pray for the Council as it meets today, to receive reports from its various committees and panels. Pray for the convener, Rev. Nigel McCullough and the secretary, Rev. Jim Stothers and for all the members that they might receive from the Holy Spirit vision, wisdom and discernment as the Council seeks to fulfil its remit. The main item of business is to receive a report from the Ministerial Studies and Development Committee following interviews of applicants to be received as students for the ordained ministry. Pray for discernment as the Council decides on recommendations to be made to the General Assembly concerning these applicants.
