PCI Intern Scheme

Congregational life & Witness

Throughout Ireland

A one year programme providing the opportunity to discover and develop your leadership potential while serving in a PCI congregation.

WHAT?

An opportunity to spend a year of your life growing in personal discipleship and developing your leadership ability. This 12 month programme includes quality training and support from a range of people in PCI, all of whom are committed to your development. We are offering six spaces for participants on the programme and will match successful applicants with an
appropriate placement.

WHY?

We want to invest in, equip and release young leaders into our Church and communities. We are providing these opportunities first and foremost to help you develop as an individual and secondly to resource the work of congregations at a local level.

WHO?

If you have a passion for God, a heart for the Church, a willingness to learn and gifts to contribute, then this opportunity is for you. The scheme is suitable for those who may wish to explore some form of ministry in the future and those who wish to grow in both their leadership and gifting. Applicants should be committed to Christ, aim to reflect Him through their life and demonstrate competency in some areas of ministry.

WHEN?

The programme will run from September 2017 to August 2018 and involves a commitment of up to 25 hours per week, equating to approximately 8 sessions each week. A weekly schedule will be agreed before applicants begin their placements.

HOW?

Successful applicants will be matched with a local congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and will undertake their placement within that setting. Interns will be line managed locally, with support from PCI’s Discipleship Development Officer. This is an unpaid scheme, however participants will be given access to significant training, resources and valuable experience, as well as the reimbursement of all out-of-pocket expenses related to their ministry.
