I had the joy of spending the first half of 2014 at home full-time with our two sons while on maternity leave. Then, in July, it was back to another joy in my life... serving the Lord as deaconess in Portrush. Although I came back to the same role and same days as before (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday), I found returning was a bigger challenge this time. As you can imagine, I am so thankful for the support and encouragement of my colleagues, Elders and congregation in Portrush. It is a privilege to be a part of this fellowship!

Along with pastoral visitation, I have continued to coordinate prayer times and publish a monthly prayer diary. Discipleship is another key area of my work which involves supporting the home group ministry, meeting with people individually to study the Word, and leading a morning Bible Study for women who cannot make it to an evening group. For the last few months of the year, I was involved in the planning of a marriage course, aiming to strengthen the marriages of those within our fellowship and wider community.

Throughout this past year, I have been so aware of the prayers of many sisters in Christ and want to thank you all for your faithfulness in prayer and partnership in spreading the Gospel.
